‘Its What You See’ is an installation influenced by observing communities. I specifically looked into memorial plaques and what they represent. They commemorate people who loved to observe and reflect in a particular place. I wanted to learn more about what these people saw, thought and recorded.

The installation was placed in the Meadows and the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh. Its aim was to engage members of the community to record their observations and thoughts by noting them in a small book whilst sitting on the bench.

These thoughts and observations have now become part of the installation in the form of plaques and contribute to a celebration of community.

The installation was invited to a 'Best of Degree Show 2016' exhibition at Six Foot Gallery in Glasgow. It is now located in the 'Edible Gardens' in the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.
